Knife Kits, textbooks and uniforms are required for culinary arts and baking and pastry arts students enrolled in the following courses: CUL 105, CUL 114, CUL 115, CUL 215, CUL 217, CUL 218, CUL 219, CUL 228, CUL 241.
The Knife Kit
The knife kit is a set of professional quality knives and tools provided by the Dexter Russel Company, a nationally recognized industry leader, and specifically created by our faculty and offered as a set.
We offer 1 combined tool kit for both Culinary & Baking Students.

Textbooks and other supplies
Textbooks and other supplies can be purchased online or through the SUNYSuffolk Eastern Campus Bookstore. Textbooks can be rented, purchased used or new and where acceptable to the course instructor E-versions may also be an option.
Students are strongly encouraged to shop online for textbooks and supplies as prices vary and discounted prices can be found by shopping around. Search online for textbooks by the textbook ISBN.
Required books supplies are to be purchased prior to your first class and brought with you to each class unless otherwise instructed by your instructor.
If you are receiving financial aid, you should plan accordingly to cover the cost of your supplies and the availability of the funds. If purchasing in the bookstore, please let the cashier know that you will be using financial aid.
Students are strongly encouraged to label their textbooks, their tool kit and its contents to reduce the risk of theft and lost kits and components.
Student Uniforms
Uniforms are to be worn on the first and every day that a lab class meets, unless otherwise instructed by the chef instructor.
Uniforms are to be ordered well in advance of the first day of a lab class.

If a new student is not sure of their size or would rather try on samples for proper sizing, the Ultimate Image suggests visiting their shop to do so.

Students are reminded that embroidered chef coats and dress shirts are NOT returnable or exchangeable.

You can add shoes to the package if you want to. All shoes must be black and slip resistant. Sneakers and street shoes are not permitted in our labs.

For non-lab classes, kitchen uniforms are not required.
