Offshore Wind Career Programs!

Introduction to Composites:

Offshore Wind Intro to Composites

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • 16-hour program
  • Learn how composite materials are manufactured, processed, and used to create articles.
  • At the end of the 2 days, you will have a completion certification from the Institute for Workforce Advancement (IWA) and ÃØÉ«´«Ã½
  • Students who have taken the 180-hour Welding course are eligible to take the Introduction to Composites course.
  • Upon completion of the Introduction to Composites course, your Welding tuition and AWS testing fees will be reimbursed to you.

Composite Certification Course:

Offshore Wind Composites Certification

  • 60-hour program
  • Learn the characteristics of composites, fabrication methods, characteristics of both composite-composite bonding as well as metal-composite joining, and testing/inspection/repair of destructive and non-destructive techniques
  • Graduates of the course will receive certification of completion from

Offshore Wind Careers Workshop:

OSW Workshop - William Floyd HS

  • 90-minute workshop that includes a lecture and hands-on project.
  • Discusses career opportunities, skills requirements, and how to use the careers website to find the leading employers in the offshore wind industry.
Summer High School Offshore Wind Turbines Class:

Offshore Wind Summer Class

The Summer High school Offshore Wind Turbine class is designed to introduce high school students to the burgeoning field of wind energy.  The summer of 2024, the College held two separate summer sessions and provided students with a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience.  Another class will be held this coming summer.

           SOLAR INSTALLER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM! 

Workforce certificate programs and courses are offered to enhance your education in renewable energy.

Be one of the first to enroll in Suffolk’s Solar Installer Certificate Program

*Starting November 5, 2024 on the Michael J. Grant Campus

* 4 week program. Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 5:00 - 8:00 pm 

* Program fee - $850.00 - scholarships available.

* 50 hour course with an externship at a local solar company

* Receive an Industry Recognized ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ Certificate of Completion

* Receive an OSHA 10 Certificate & an OSHA Fall Prevention Safety Certificate

* Interview with a solar company at the completion of the program
