Resplendent Water by JoAnne Dumas at Eastern Campus Sept. 2 – Oct. 24

Joanne Dumas is a photographer inspired by the tantalizing qualities of water.

Dumas’ expansive works contain up to 10 continuous panels of dancing reflections, a panorama of color, pattern, and form, or contain undulating surfaces representing the rhythmic motion of water.  Others are made of translucent rice paper which hang in front of a light source, or away from a lit wall allowing light to bounce through.  Ms. Dumas works with metallic pigments and diamond dust creating a pearlescent surface akin to the shimmering surfaces of water.  The end result is impressionist photography that at times harkens to Monet’s Water Lilies.

The Lyceum Gallery, located on the Eastern Campus of ÃØÉ«´«Ã½, Riverhead, is pleased to present JoAnne Dumas: Resplendent Water from September 2 through October 24, 2014.
