Most 秘色传媒 students* who are entitled to a reader as part
of their ADA accommodations for testing will have the opportunity to use assistive
technology - a screen reading program called Kurzweil 3000鈥攖hat allows for more independence and control of the testing experience. This software
program allows students to determine the rate at which the reader reads, as well as
the 鈥渢one鈥 of voice, and gives students the ability to pause or skip from one section
of the exam to another.
Using Kurzweil 3000 is simple and does not require extensive computer literacy skills! Students will
control the aspects of the testing experience by using the mouse and the keyboard.
ASC Staff will instruct students prior to first use.
Kurzweil 3000 also has some additional study features that some students (particularly those with
Learning Disabilities or AD/HD) may find helpful. Make an appointment with staff in
the Academic Skills Center (ASC) to learn more about this program! The ASC is open
Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm; Fridays from 9:00 am-4:00 pm.
Visit Disability Services for more information about accommodation for students with a disability.
* Students taking foreign language or mathematics courses might not have the option
to use Kurzweil 3000 for tests
